Whinburn Booking Terms & Conditions

Any deposit paid initially, will be refunded in full, if a cancellation is made up to 3 months before arrival.

As most people book self catering, well in advance, it is unusual to fill weeks at short notice and a deposit refund would not normally be made for cancellations within 3 months of booking date.

We are ok with guests paying balances on arrival with the following condition:

In the event of a very short notice cancellation, (under 1 month) or in the event of not arriving for the booking, the full week’s tariff would still be due, minus a ¬£40 cleaning discount.

The log burner has been installed as a nice cosy feature, with the guests staying in the colder months in mind. This does not form part of the house heating system.
From October until March, (inclusive) we are happy to let guests choose a night of their choice for us to put the log burner on for them. Logs will be left to keep this going for the evening. No extra charge will be due for this service in the above months.
Due to the labour intensive cleaning and fickle starting process involved with getting it going, it is necessary for us to do this for guests.
Outside of these months, we may still agree at our discretion to put the fire on one night, of a weeks booking.

We aim to have the house cleaned to a very high standard for your arrival. This is one of the most important areas that guests naturally expect and appreciate. To ensure the highest standards, we prepare the house ourselves and don’t use staff.

We appreciate that people are here on holiday and are not here to clean houses but when guests leave, we do ask though that the house is left in an acceptable condition and an attempt has been made to leave the house in a reasonable state.

Almost all of our guests are very decent in this respect, in fairness but very occasionally we have been let down and have even had to delay the arrival of the next guests, due the the extra work involved.

If the house was left in an unacceptably messy condition, we reserve the right to charge more for the extra cleaning.

Finally, breakages do happen, it’s part of life!
All we ask is to let us know if anything gets broken or if you have noticed anything not working properly, please bring it to our attention.

Whinburn is a non smoking house and unfortunately, we can’t accept pets so apologies to pet owners for this policy.
